Take note that crunchy treats can also be bad especially when bits of food get stuck in between the teeth. Foreign objects in teeth can cause a foul-smelling odor when they are not taken out immediately. It is always best to feed them a healthy mix of dry food made with real meat and lots of water to prevent dehydration. Water also rinses away food particles helping to prevent pet bad breath. You can give them digestive enzymes as supplements to make sure that their gastronomical tracts are all right.
Chew toys and raw bones are said to be of great help in preventing tartar build-up. Just make sure that the bones and chew toys are big enough for them not to swallow it. Always monitor your pet when you give them these to know if they can handle it well. Do not give your dog cooked chicken bones because it may cause damage to your pet’s intestines.
