Allegations that Crest® Pro-Health Rinse stains teeth was the focus of a five-minute consumer report aired earlier this month on the Today Show on NBC. According to the news report, “dozens of pages of complaints” have been recorded and a lawsuit has been filed against Proctor & Gamble, maker of the alcohol-free mouthrinse. Several consumers interviewed complained of tooth and tongue discoloration after prolonged use of Pro-Health Rinse, which comes in light blue and green colors. In response to the claims, the FDA released a statement that said, in part, with prolonged use of Crest Pro-Health, “tooth and tongue staining may occur.”
